Conduct for Professional Practice

Good outcomes for the customer, decided one conversation at a time.

A scenario-based CPD programme, in development, for people who advise, sell to and serve customers in financial services. Good outcomes are decided one conversation at a time, and this title is built from those conversations.

The decisions

What the learner has to decide

What to recommend

Two products fit. One suits the customer better and pays less.

When to slow a sale down

The customer is keen, and has not understood the risk.

How to treat a vulnerable customer

Nothing on the file says so, but something in the call does.

What to say when it has gone wrong

The mistake is yours, and the customer has not noticed yet.

Who it is for

Banks, insurers, advisers and credit unions, the bodies that qualify their people, and the training providers that serve them.

Why it matters

Regulators now hold firms, and named individuals within them, to conduct standards that turn on judgement in the moment. A record that someone completed a course says little about that. A record of what they decided says more.

The method

How it will work

Scenarios, not slides

Each part will open on a situation a practitioner would recognise. Every scenario will be reviewed by a specialist in the subject before release.

Scored decisions

The learner chooses what to do, and the choice is scored against what a careful professional would do. There is no answer to look up.

A record for each person

Each learner leaves with a record of the decisions they made, which says more than a certificate of attendance.

The method is already live in AI for Professional Practice. Module 1 is open to anyone, takes about twenty minutes and needs no sign-up. Try Module 1, or see the other titles in the library.
